When the viscosity index is higher, it means that the lubricating oil is not easily affected by the external force temperature and maintains good lubricity, which is one of the most important data indicators of lubricating oil.

Test the volume of foam and the elimination speed of the lubricating oil under different temperatures. The faster the elimination speed, means the the oil film coverage area better of the lubricating oil, and the more stable the oil film.

Detect the operation of lubricating oil at low temperature, especially for 0W, 5W and other durability, can maintain good lubricity at low temperature, so that very important indicators can be used when selecting, the lower the value, the larger the flow value covered.

When the gas supply is sufficient, the combustion temperature of the testing instrument at high temperature and the good flash temperature can keep the lubricating oil from burning even if the engine or machinery is running at high temperature and high speed.

During the reaction process, oxides in the air will produce acidic substances, which will cause metal corrosion or corrosion of acid value, but additives still contains acidic substances, so it must be referenced with other values at the same time.

After the lubricating oil is oxidized, acidic substances will be produced, its protection and lubricity will be reduced and the internal parts of the engine will begin to corrode, which is the so-called oil deterioration. Ash content can be used to judge the refining depth of oil products, the less the better, for oil products (new oil) with metal salt additives, ash content can be used as a means to quantitatively control the amount of additives added. Less is better, but should be no lower than a certain value or range.

Anti-emulsification refers to the ability of lubricating oil to be emulsified without water, and oil and water can be quickly separated, also known as water separability. Lubricating oil with good anti-emulsification performance and rapid separation of oil and water can ensure that the deterioration speed of oil products is delayed.

It reflects the lubricating retention ability of the oil under high temperature and high shear conditions. The higher the index, the better the high temperature and high speed performance, but each grade has a suitable HTHS value to take into account the benefits of saving fuel and energy.

CCS mainly reflects the low temperature starting performance of lubricating oil. The smaller the CCS value is, the easier the lubricating oil is to start at low temperature. The viscosity index improver with good low temperature performance has less negative impact on the CCS of lubricating oil.
